The Most Cluttered House in the UK – An Inside Look into the Wacky World of Porcelain, Flowers and Cushions

Over the last few years, I have tried to adopt a minimalistic approach to life. My CD’s and DVD’s were sold or given away because I realised that they were doing more than take up space in my house. Likewise, most of my books have been stored away as I read on my Kindle frequently.

It is clear that other people do not share my views on minimalism.

A friend of mine recently emailed me a house in Liverpool that can best be described as cluttered. From the outside, the house looks like a beautiful semi-detached six bedroom house.

Inside is a different story. The house is packed full of lamps, porcelain, photographs, paintings and cushions.

The next room is bizarre. If you forget about all the clutter for a second, you soon realise that the six seater sofa faces mirrors and chests of drawers. It’s a strange layout to say the least.

The dining room area boasts blue and white vases and dishes. Flowers are also displayed.

The theme of blue and white porcelain continues in the kitchen. Bizarrely, a vase sits next to the door of the cooker.

With more flowers and cushions than a Las Vegas wedding suite, the main bedroom is not for the feint hearted.

Thankfully, there is a little room for you to stretch your legs out when using the toilet.

The garden looks like the outside part of a DIY store. Is this a residential garden or the garden area of B & Q?

The theme of flowers, cushions and dreams, continues in other bedrooms.

Another living area continues the the concept of having guests all sitting in a row on the sofa. There is thankfully no mirrors this time, which allows guests to focus on the many ornaments that are displayed in the room.

You will be pleased to hear that the third living area does allow people to sit across from each other and talk face to face. That is, of course, if you don’t mind the ridiculously huge chandelier hanging off the ceiling.

This room also answers the question as to whether vases can also be used as lamps.

If you are a compulsive hoarder, this is the house for you. With six bedrooms and many living areas, you will have enough space to store thousands of items. Those of you who are clumsy, or do not want to carry a map with you just to go to the toilet, may want to look elsewhere.
